Discovering and Deepening Your Story

With Sonora Jha

August 28 - September 4, 2022

You may have a glimmer of any idea toward a story. You may have a complete first draft that yearns for nuance and layers. In this week-long workshop, you will find the tools to craft your essays, your memoir, or your work of fiction by breaking out into new discoveries in your voice, your characters, your arc, your story.

Sonora Jha isn’t a teacher, she’s a facilitator of magical happenings. Although, maybe that’s what being a great teacher truly is. This course was a very educational and inspiring experience that will not be forgotten. – Josh Wallace, 2021 participant

Sonora will offer lessons in craft and give you writing prompts to generate fresh writing in your plenty of self-directed writing time. The group will gather for nightly fire-side conversations to share bits of writing from the day, or exchange ideas about craft and the writing life. The workshop is appropriate for all writers from all backgrounds and any skill level. You need an interest in writing, but you do not need to have published anything yet.

Writers will be asked to submit a one-page description of the writing project they are working on/hope to work on once registered.
