Re-Awakening the Spine
With Diane Long and Robin Stamm
May 15 - 20, 2022
Re-awakening the spine and breath can be a physical liaison to a deepening realm. Yoga, or unity of body and mind, is about increasing sensory awareness. However, without attention and freedom even asana (yoga postures) can distract from true listening.
Whether you are just beginning yoga or are a longtime practitioner, join us to learn how embodiment must be accompanied by simplicity and a willingness to start anew. We will break habits that are not useful and, with quiet discipline, substitute newness. To be simple is never easy, but a playful simple practice just may entice you back to a kind and easeful relationship with your body.
Vanda Scaravelli, author of Awakening the Spine, is legendary in the world of yoga. J. Krishnamurti‘s best friend for sixty years, Vanda began to explore yoga and movement late in life to help Krishnamurti develop more ease in his body. Vanda’s initial study was in music as a classical pianist, and with this understanding of music reflected in her yoga, she shunned methodology and celebrated the creative. With her revolutionary approach, Vanda taught how to practice in such a way that body/mind relationship is transformed without seeking a particular position or asana. During these five days together, we will explore this intuitive, yet sometimes elusive, way of working with Robin Stamm who is a close follower of the lineage.
There is no age limit and all levels are welcome as the program is tailored to the students in the room.
