Sea Kayaking Adventures Aboard Misty Isles
With Michael Moore
June 28 - July 3, 2019
Learn to kayak safely and comfortably as you navigate the protected ocean waters surrounding Cortes Island. Glide gently on the surface of the sea, passing miles of pristine coastline, with seals, bald eagles and seabirds for company.
With kayaks and lunch loaded onboard the 43-foot Misty Isles schooner, voyage out from Hollyhock each morning to explore and paddle in the spectacular waters around Cortes Island and Desolation Sound. Along the way we may be able to set the sails or view wildlife which may include eagles, seals, and possibly humpback whales, porpoise or dolphins. Aboard the comfortable mothership, we cruise past mountains that seem to shoot up out of the sea and pass historic sites brought to life by Captain Mike’s vivid stories.
Upon arriving at our day’s destination, we launch the kayaks and paddle off for an exploration of picturesque channels or islands. Enjoy the deep quiet of nature and the peace of your own thoughts as you paddle these calm, protected waters. Hungry from adventuring, we return to Hollyhock in time for dinner and a hot tub.
No experience required, kayaks, paddles and life vests are supplied. Limit to 12 participants.
“Mike is a great kayak safety instructor; he used clear terminology and geared our discussions to our skill level. My best experience with kayaking ever over a 15 year kayak history.” – Past Participant
