We believe that all people should have access to transformative educational experiences. To help reduce cost as a barrier to participation, Hollyhock is committed to offering a variety of pathways for financial support. We are grateful to Hollyhock’s community of supporters for their generosity in making these funds available.
Our financial support pathways prioritize participation for people of Indigenous, African, Asian, Latin American, and Arab descent, in recognition of long-standing inequities in access to leadership and learning spaces. Priority may also be given to applicants who experience other systemic barriers to participation.
Funds are available for applicants who face structural or personal financial constraints. Financial constraints may include economic barriers such as caregiving responsibilities, health limitations, fixed incomes, or struggling to meet basic needs such as housing, food, and healthcare.
If you are not experiencing financial need, we kindly ask that you pay in full for your participation. Doing so enables us to direct funds toward those who would otherwise be unable to attend.

Yes. All applicants demonstrating financial need are welcome to apply. Priority consideration may be given to expanding access to those who have not previously received support, depending on available funds.
We’re truly sorry if we’re not able to meet your full request. As a not-for-profit organization, we are stretching our available funds to support as many individuals as possible each season, and unfortunately we cannot guarantee full support for every applicant.
You may wish to explore alternative sources of support, including:
- Professional development funds through your employer
- Community foundation or local arts, climate, or leadership grants
- Union or professional association bursaries
- Education or training allowances connected to your sector
- Crowdfunding within your community or network
- Sponsorship from a partner organization aligned with your work
If a program is cancelled, recipients may transfer their scholarship to an alternate program in the same year. If you are unable to attend due to circumstances beyond your control, we invite you to reapply in the next program year.
