Karine Fortin

The Canadian Union of Public Employees is Canada’s largest union, with 750,000 members across the country. CUPE represents workers in health care, emergency services, education, early learning and child care, municipalities, social services, libraries, utilities, transportation, airlines and more. We have 68 offices across the country, in every province.

Karine joined the CUPE team as Director of communications in 2018. Before that, she held senior executive roles at the Office of the Leader of the Official Opposition and at Canada’s NDP. She started her career as a reporter for Le Devoir and The Canadian Press, in Montreal and Ottawa.
