Psoma Yoga Therapy

With Donna Martin & Shelley Winton

September 20 - 25, 2020

Experience a gentle body-mind/spirit healing practice. Learn how habitual tension and movement patterns may have psychological meaning, discover, and transform the roots of unnecessary suffering, and find the keys to true health and freedom.

Psoma Yoga therapy is a practice for personal use or can be integrated with Hakomi (mindfulness-based assisted self-discovery) as a way to support others in their healing journey. “Soma” (from Greek) means body, and “ps” (as in psychology) means mind/spirit – psoma yoga therapy is body-mind/spirit therapy.

Stress and suffering are embodied experiences. Learning about how habitual tension and movement patterns may have psychological meaning allows us to discover and transform the roots of unnecessary suffering and find the keys to true health, embodied joy, and freedom.

No previous yoga or Hakomi experience necessary. It is for anyone wanting to access and trust body wisdom for healing. The approach is gentle, respectful, collaborative, and experiential.

Like to attend but not able to make it out to Cortes Island? Donna Martin will be presenting Hakomi: The Practice of Loving Presence with Georgia Marvin in Vancouver, May 2-3, 2020.

Donna shares with us what keeps her inspired to continue teaching Psoma and Hakomi at Hollyhock:
