About

Kareen Wong

Hi, I’m Kareen (they/them). I live and work on the unceded and ancestral lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), and sə̓ lílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, also known as Vancouver, BC.

I’m a leadership development consultant, facilitator, and coach. I work with social impact leaders and organizations to support them to live their values, strengthen personal and collective capacity, and create workplaces that are inclusive and heart-centered.

As a biracial, queer, and non-binary person, I’ve spent my life navigating spaces and systems that weren’t built with me in mind. This lived experience shapes my warm, heart-centered approach, rooted in trauma-informed, intersectional, and anti-oppressive principles.

Over the past 12 years, I’ve facilitated staff and board retreats, capacity building workshops, community engagement, strategic planning processes, public dialogues, and high-stakes decision-making. I also speak at conferences, always aiming to create and hold spaces where connection comes first.

As a coach, I’m passionate about supporting social impact leaders in finding greater confidence, clarity, and authenticity—so they can lead from their truest selves and navigate life on their own terms.

Outside of work, you’ll find me pursuing the fancy kitchen accessories, trying new super spicy hot sauces, staring at the ocean, looking up new recipes (and then not following them), enjoying coffee and hiking in the mountains.

About Kareen Wong Consulting:
Kareen Wong Consulting is a BIPOC and queer-owned anti-oppressive leadership consultancy committed to cultivating heart-centered leaders and inclusive workplaces that inspire genuine connection and transformative change.

I offer facilitation for gatherings filled with warmth and purpose, leadership development workshops, personal coaching, anti-oppressive community engagement, team-building retreats, and equity-driven strategic planning. My approach centers on leading with heart, guided by somatics and purpose, and creating spaces where people can come together in meaningful ways.

I believe that the transformation our world needs begins within each of us. Leading and living from a heart-centered place takes practice, skill, and—most importantly—community. In all that I do, I aim to bring people together with purpose, sparking collective growth that will shape a brighter, more just future.

SVI Virtual 2026 Workshop: Practicing Power Consciousness in Decision-Making

We believe decision-making is a critical site for enacting equity, accountability, and integrity in values-driven businesses and organizations. Making decisions that are ‘power-conscious’ enables entrepreneurs and leaders to more intentionally enact their values in the big and small choices they make on the day-to-day.

This interactive workshop shines a light on power: how it shows up, how it shapes decisions, and how each of us participates in it. Rather than only examining and observing external structures, we suggest that power-consciousness is rooted internally. Participants will be supported to turn inward and identify the different types of power they hold in different contexts. Together, we will reflect on how to leverage the power we hold for more equitable outcomes.

Over the course of 90 mins, we will explore three tools for building power-consciousness: creating a shared language for naming and discussing power, mapping the flow of power through your decision-making context, and identifying the various types of power you’re able to exercise. Participants will walk away with an increased capacity to:

1. Reflect on their own power and leverage opportunities within decision-making spaces;
2. Map formal and informal decision-makers, including roles, relationships, and influence, and;
3. Identify how personal, relational, and structural power dynamics impact decision outcomes.
