Radical Dharma

IN CONVERSATION is a production of Banyen Books & Sound, Canada’s most comprehensive body-mind-spirit bookstore.

“Love and justice are not two. Without inner change, there can be no outer change. Without collective change, no change matters.”

Maverick spiritual teacher and author, Rev. angel Kyodo williams Sensei speaks eloquently about Dharma, social justice, truth and love. Kyodo sensibly advocates for Dharma that leaves nothing out of its inquiry so that as practitioners, we can face the uncomfortable truth of present day racial injustice, gender inequalities and social injustice. Bridging the inner and outer, Kyodo delivers a complex, nuanced, and discerning understanding of right action.
Rev angel Kyodo williams, is an ordained Zen priest and the founder of the Center for Transformative Change in Berkeley, California. She seeks to bridge the racial divides that exist within communities through the power of practice and what she calls “a radical dharma.” In her latest book, Radical Dharma: Talking Race, Love and Liberation, Rev. williams addresses racial injustice and the barriers to a socially just world while pointing to how one individual’s commitment can spark healing within a community.
