Awaken Your Senses to Creativity
With Zebith Thalden
June 24 - 28, 2026
Allow the natural landscapes of woodland, garden, and marine habitat be the location of your creative inspiration. We will spend time mindfully witnessing to expand the senses. From this awareness, we will then sketch both the profound and uniquely subtle elements of the environment.
We will transform our observations into the visual, translating sound into color, sensation into form, and feeling into pattern. Concepts created during this meditative process will launch into designs for finished artwork that presents our individual sense-based experience of each location. You might choose to use pastels, watercolours, coloured pencil or a combination of media for your expression. Completed compositions will become an illustration of our own perspective within the collective ecological story.

Testimonials
I loved going to Zebith’s workshop. She is such an intuitive teacher, that seems to sense individually what you need as an artist. I feel this will be art changing and help me put more meaning or “soul” into my paintings. -Jacelen
I went away feeling energized to try new ideas as well as feeling more positive about my creative process than ever before. Zebith was always prepared with new ideas and approaches tailored to meet my needs and skills. Through her evaluations, she helped me see my strengths as well as giving me concrete ways to improve my work. Zebith’s positive approach and skills in both art and teaching made the lessons both instructive and enjoyable. I look forward to taking more lessons from her. -Nancy
Zebith was outstanding at “working the room” – traveling in such a way that she kept track of the progress of each of us. Notably, she did not short-change the less assertive or less skilled among us. She provided focused feedback that was constructive and appropriately aimed at the individual’s level of functioning. She never “took over” a drawing the way that some instructors do. While identifying the skills needing attention, Zebith consistently generated a sense of achievement. Throughout, the class exuded positive energy, and camaraderie developed rapidly. I was quite impressed by the set of drawings produced by our group. -Dell
