For the past 26 years Katrina Ilsedóttir Curry has practiced as a somatic and arts based psychotherapist, helping folks rest into their embodied experience, transform the impacts of personal and collective trauma, and develop confidence and creativity for embodied leadership and collaborative cultural shapeshifting.
A Certified Advanced Practitioner of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and International Trainer for the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute, and Registered Canadian Art Therapist on Faculty with the Kutenai Art Therapy Institute, Katrina is also an embodied storyteller, dance artist, visual artist, and song weaver. Katrina has travelled deeply in Dance Artistry, Movement Based Expressive Arts, Dance Movement Therapy, Somatic Inquiry Lineages, and Multimodal Improvisation, and has taught widely from these rivers, in Canada, the US, Europe, and Japan.
A Soul Motion Conscious Dance Teacher, she is the co-creator of the Soul Motion Embodied Leadership program, Founder of the Turtle Island School of Soul Motion and Relational Ecology, and Faculty with the Devon School of Soul Motion, in England.
She holds an independent practice as a psychotherapist, consultant, mentor, and trainer, and is a Registered Couple and Family Therapist in Canada, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California, and Registered Clinical Counselor in BC.
Katrina weaves the wisdom of somatic psychology and care for nervous systems into her facilitation. Her programs are rooted in creative methods for Kinship and centering Biodiversity – neurodivergence affirming, Queer & Trans celebrating, BIPOC welcoming, decolonizing spaces. Dance, movement, play, and arts for unclenching, releasing, resting, and revitalizing engagement in this complex life.
