Zahura Ahmed is a first-generation Bangladeshi Canadian living on Lekwungen Territory of the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations. She has worked in community and international development for the past decade, learning from changemakers across the globe who inspire her daily. Currently, Zahura holds space for others as a co-facilitator of Nature-Based Therapy groups, an instructor at UVIC for Intercultural Communication, and as a yoga teacher. She brings a trauma-informed lens and ethic of care rooted in a heart-centered approach to her work and life and aims to always hold space with integrity, a humble mind, and an open heart. Zahura loves to hike, cook, and spend time by the ocean. Her most cherished role in life is as an auntie to her five nieces and nephews.
