Sarah Delroy is a third-generation settler from the Ukraine, England, Ireland and Scandinavia who grew up on unceded Algonquin territory and has been living on Cortes, the traditional territories of the Klahoose, Tla’amin, and Homalco Nations, since 2023. She has facilitated education programs and workshops on nature connection and fine arts since 2001. Some of her apprenticeships include studying Gukgung archery in South Korea, animal tracking, flint knapping, fire making and other life-ways skills in the Pine Barrens, and living without running water or electricity for 3 years. It was while working in nature she saw how deep states of connection catalyzed personal and communal healing of trauma. She wanted to hold that space with more safety, and went back to school and got her master’s in counselling psychology and now works as a nature therapist.
