Trudi Smith brings over 25 years of experience with experimental arts-based collaborations focusing on flourishing within human and more than human communities. Trudi works as a clinical counsellor, artist and cultural anthropologist and teaches ecological arts as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Environmental Studies at the University of Victoria. In recent writing, exhibitions, and workshops Trudi’s work focuses on feminist social art grounded in creative and somatic practices.
Trudi is a settler of scottish and mixed european descent, and acknowledges with respect that she lives and works as an uninvited guest on stolen lands, the traditional territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən speaking peoples, and the Songhees, Esquimalt and WSÁNEĆ peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day, commonly known as Victoria, Canada.
