Yogacharini Maitreyi is an international transformational trainer, young elder, wisdom keeper and practical mystic. She is the founder of Arkaya Awareness Centre and Arkaya Foundation. Arka means light, healing, inspiration and awesomeness in Sanskrit and Arkaya means unto the light. Her heart sings to see people’s lives blossom into consciousness.
Originally from South India, she now lives in Vancouver, Canada. She has been sharing the deeper dimensions of the classical Yogic and Tantric sciences and arts for over 25 years, worldwide, to a wide spectrum of people. The decolonised, full spectrum Arkaya practice has empowered many to become their own healers and guides.
Since 1997, she has been given titles in India, such as: Yoga chemmal (expert), Yoga shiromani (gem), and Yoga acharini (guide). She was one of the youngest to be invited on the Advisory Board of the World Yoga Council, in Europe, in 2007.
Maitreyi has trained over 60 corporations, spoken at many conferences, shared her joy through kirtan ( soul song) and has over 100 published articles in India, Hong Kong, Sweden, Dubai , Sri Lanka. Italy, U.S.A. and Canada. She was invited to share her wisdom at many international yoga, ayurveda and leadership summits. Her journey, gleanings and teachings will move you towards fully embracing all parts of you including trauma (unconscious stuck patterns) that influences your behavior, to transform it. She enables connecting your humanity to your divinity.
Since 2022 the 500 hr, 2 year Self awareness teacher training has become fully online to make it more accessible. It is one of the rare programs that includes yogic healing (includes energy) , yoga therapy, mentorship in teaching plus self and other chakra rebalancing. It delves into the paradigm shifts required to practice real yoga and tantra. Basics of all sister sciences like ayurveda, nada yoga, mantra and kirtan, planetary influences, sacred geometry and much more are shared.
A compassionate holistic coach, Maitreyi’s individual sessions include online energy assessments to guide one into one’s own innate balance. She loves nature , ayurvedic food and makes films close to her heart. The most recent documentary she made is titled Karma , which is the name of a grandmother who chose to become an Arkaya teacher and serve others after becoming paralyzed waist down in an accident in 2016
