Andrea Grabovac, MD, FRCPC

Dr. Andrea Grabovac, MD, FRCPC, is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of British Columbia, and Co-Director of the North American Chapter of the Mindfulness integrated Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MiCBT) Institute. She has practiced inpatient psychiatry for 20 years at Vancouver Hospital, and her current outpatient work focuses on mindfulness-based treatments.

Andrea delivers MiCBT training programs for clinicians internationally, and is a Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) teacher trainer and mentor with UCSD Mindfulness Based Professional Training Institute. Her academic publications explore the clinical relevance of re-contextualizing mindfulness-based interventions within Buddhist psychological frameworks and address the role for frameworks of meditative progress. Current research focuses on questionnaire development to track progress through the stages of insight.

She is co-author of MiCBT for Well-being and Personal Growth: A 10-week evidence-based program to cultivate inner calm, books self-confidence and improve relationships, 2nd edition and the Mindfulness and Meditation Workbook for Anxiety and Depression. She is an active member of the International Mindfulness Integrity Network. She completed her yoga teacher training in 2020 and has been practicing in the Burmese Theravada Vipassana tradition since 2002.
