About

Tecuana Wooldridge

As a lifelong resident of Cortes Island, Tecuana’s leadership is grounded in place. She sees meaningful employment as the most effective social service a community can offer and is committed to employing local residents, circulating dollars within the local economy, and creating training and development opportunities that are often unavailable in economically constrained rural communities.

Tecuana believes meaningful work includes job satisfaction and that strong, aligned teams are the foundation of sustainable organizations. She is committed to cultivating workplace cultures rooted in inclusivity, accessibility, and clear, honest communication.

She serves on the boards of the Friends of Cortes Island Society and the Cortes Island Investing Co-op, with a special interest in the intersection of climate protection, local economic resilience, and reconciliation.

Tecuana is committed to operating respectfully in First Nation territories and recognizes the importance of right relations and building mutually beneficial relationships with local nations.
