Taren Stinebrickner-Kauffman

Taren Stinebrickner-Kauffman is the former President of New Media Ventures (NMV), the nonprofit VC firm whose early investments were pivotal for progressive political startups including Blavity, ActBlue Civics, Vote.org, and PushBlack. She is also the founder and former Executive Director of global consumer watchdog SumOfUs. 

She currently serves as Senior Advisor at NMV and runs a consulting practice focused on digital and political innovation. Taren’s career has spanned Democratic politics, social impact tech, the climate and labor movements, working for groups like MoveOn.org, the Alliance for Climate Protection, Change.org, and the AFL-CIO. Taren lives in San Francisco with her two preschoolers, where she plays a lot of pickleball and is working on a science fiction novel.
