Mariana Martinez Rubio

Born in Mexico and raised in South Africa, Mariana’s roots guide her work at the intersection of economic and financial empowerment and gender issues. For the last 7 years, she’s served various organizations including the Sauder Centre for Social Innovation and Impact Investing (SauderS3i), Propel Impact, and the Canadian Women’s Foundation to promote the participation of women, youth, and BIPOC in entrepreneurship and social finance. Currently, Mariana serves as Operations Coordinator at InBC Investment Corp, a strategic investment fund with $500 million to invest in companies and funds to generate financial returns and achieve social and environmental benefits for the people of British Columbia. Mariana brings an intersectionality lens to all aspects of her work and loves facilitating connections across diverse communities.
