As a seasoned attorney, advocate, and political operative with over 20 years of experience, Dasheika has been at the forefront of some of our nation’s most historic and consequential campaigns. She has served on high-stakes campaigns on all levels, including five U.S. Presidential races and several congressional and statewide races, including Presidents Obama and Biden, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Congressman Ayanna Pressley and Stacey Abrams. She is the only political operative who has helped flip two deeply Republican-led U.S. Senate seats to Democratic-led for Doug Jones in Alabama and Reverend Raphael Warnock for Georgia.
Previously, she served as the Southern Regional Director for the American Civil Liberties (the “ACLU”) Smart Justice Campaign, where she focused on voter enfranchisement for formerly incarcerated people and ending mass incarceration across the South. During her tenure with the ACLU, she leveraged her legal and advocacy experience to help build political power for communities of color and helped the organization secure two of its most historic victories that ushered in the end of century long Jim-Crow era laws.
Dasheika is a Presidential Leaders Scholar and serves on the board of the LBJ Women’s Campaign School. She is licensed to practice law in both Georgia and Texas. She received her Juris Doctorate from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, TX and received her B.A. and B.S in Pre-Law and Legal Studies from the University of Florida.
