Three strands have woven through Daniel Lindenberger’s life since childhood: Community, Human Potential, and Technology.
A lifelong student of how we gather and grow, Daniel’s early immersion in Vancouver’s vibrant 80s and 90s “Cultural Creatives” scene rooted him in the power of community based on meaningful connection. His commitment to community formation has included serving on the boards of the Canadian Cohousing Association and the Group Pattern Language Project. Daniel helped pioneer CoronaWhy’s “Unmanagement” approach to self-organizing communities of action, presented at the 2020 GITMA Conference, and the “Mycelial Approach” used by Round Table of Relief and the Fraser Lowland Bioregional project.
Daniel’s exploration of human potential has been both inward and collective: from a five-month journaling journey through Nepal and India, to study of Eastern religions, Western esoteric traditions, and Jungian psychology. Now, as cofounder of Thaumazo, he brings people together to explore how we can grow — individually, collectively, and globally — through projects aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
Daniel’s relationship with technology began in 1984 with a Tandy 1000 and a programming manual — no games, just possibilities. Ever since, he’s been fascinated by how we shape technology, and how it in turn shapes us. He served as Emerging Media Expert at UBC’s Emerging Media Lab, and consults with UBC’s Digital Experience Lab on AI related projects.
Having just completed a full-time Fellowship exploring emergent strategies to address the Metacrisis, Daniel is currently focused on Bioregional Regeneration and AI supported education for both children and adults.
About Thaumazo
Thaumazo is a nonprofit dedicated to exploring how individuals and communities can grow, transform, and respond creatively to the complex challenges of our time. Rooted in a spirit of inquiry and systemic care, Thaumazo works at the intersection of human potential, collective intelligence, and global sustainability.
Drawing from the ancient Greek word for wonder and awe, it cultivates conditions for meaningful transformation through gatherings, workshops, and experimental projects aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Embracing deep play, emergent design, and narrative transformation, Thaumazo acts as a living laboratory for navigating the interconnected social, ecological, and technological challenges known as the Metacrisis — supporting the evolution of inner and outer systems in service of human and planetary flourishing.
