Alissa Assu

A member of the Wet’suwet’en First Nation and the Laksamshu (Fireweed and Owl) Clan, Ali is the owner of three Indigenous businesses: West Coast Wildflowers, Bear Essential Oils and, most recently, RavenSong Soaps and Candles. Ali holds a BA in Criminology and First Nations Studies from SFU and certificates in Aboriginal Health & Community Administration and in Indigenous Sport and Recreation from UBC and U of A respectively. Ali’s vision is to build a thriving business ecosystem that offers a safe space rooted in Indigenous cultural, language and community spirit to help uplift and amplify voices for BIPOC women.

Ali is frequently tapped as a public speaker and leader at conferences featuring women and indigenous entrepreneurs. She also acts as a supportive partner for the National Indigenous Renal Transplant Research Project.
