Run for Office

With Hollyhock Leadership Institute

October 31 - November 4, 2021

Applications will be live soon. Sign up for notifications to hear when the form is up.

Have you ever thought of running for office? Have you wondered what it takes? What it might mean for you? Run for Office will bring people from communities who have been traditionally excluded from electoral politics from across Canada together. Learn how to build an effective campaign and explore the realities of supporting, running, and holding public office.

Join a group of progressives with an interest in running for office, or working in auxiliary roles, at all levels of government in Canada. Gain practical campaign skills, refine personal narratives, discover the personal and emotional realities of being or supporting a candidate, and begin building a campaign plan. All this is done with a network of past and present politicians, campaign staffers, and change makers.

Past presenters have included Olivia Chow, Bowinn Ma, Nadine Nakagawa, Sharmarke Dubow, and Ginger Gosner-Myers.

“We need to engage and mobilize more people from under-represented communities to enter the political arena to represent our voices. I came out of this program with tangible skills and the idea that running for office is very possible!” – Kristin Cheung, 2019 participant

Please check back for a full program schedule.

Application Coming Soon. Applications from Indigenous people, People of Colour, people who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+, women, youth, and others traditionally excluded from electoral politics are encouraged.
