Stand up paddle boards (SUP) are a great trade for your yoga mat – they are wide and stable, but can take you to new environments and waterscapes. When the board is coupled with nature, they serve as teachers imparting the lesson to remain as dynamic as the ever-flowing water, engaging your core in a way not often seen on land.
This practice will take you beyond just the physical aspect; it will teach you how to be one with the elements, tune into your inner center, practice awareness and mindfulness, and be present with what is – ultimate surrender.
The smooth, calm inlet waters of Desolation Sound offer idyllic conditions for all levels of SUP yogis. Connect with yourself in nature through a daily schedule that includes paddling meditation, SUP yoga, dry-land yoga, Stand-up Paddleboarding in the inlet and lake, and possibly best floating savasana you’ve ever experienced.

Marie-Soleil has been practicing yoga and studying healing therapies for 20 years. She is a certified Cranio Sacral Therapist, Massage Therapist, and Yoga Teacher. Her yoga practice focuses on movement, flow and quietude to bring a sense of deep connection and awareness. After a decade of paddling oceans, lakes and rivers, Marie-Soleil developed a stand-up paddleboard yoga program on Alta Lake in Whistler, BC. She has been teaching SUP yoga since her SUP Yoga and SUP Instructor certifications in 2015.
