ABOUT THE ROLE
Hollyhock cooks have a passion for creating beautiful and delicious foods that enliven and nourish all. As a Third Cook you will be part of a dynamic high performing team preparing meals from our renowned Hollyhock kitchen.
The Third Cook ensures that health and safety standards are followed during all food preparation at their assigned station. Third Cooks are responsible for the cleanliness and appearance of their station and the kitchen in general. You have a positive and friendly attitude, are committed to proper sanitation, and share a strong work ethic. You are willing and able to learn and are open to following directions, receiving feedback, and off ering your highest abilities and eff orts to all jobs at hand. Working in the Hollyhock kitchen is a team-centered environment. It is a place where guests, students, and presenters experience and taste on a daily basis the actions of what Hollyhock is essentially about – nourishing and inspiring people.
In this position you will be exposed to continuous deadlines, long hours working on your feet, and operating kitchen equipment where safety is of utmost importance. Hollyhock is a seven day a week operation and you may be asked to work outside of regular working hours or split shifts as needed. This may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business dictates.
Guest Services
Position: Guest Service Manager
Reports to: Campus Director
Location: Cortes Island, BC
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Guest Services Manager is responsible for leading Hollyhock’s Registration department to ensure a high-quality experience for all guests and program presenters. This role provides supervision, training, and encouragement to staff, while modeling excellence in guest service, communication, and team coordination.
The Guest Services Manager collaborates across departments to ensure accurate and timely
communication to presenters and staff, and also provides Retreat Guru administrative support across campus operations, programming, and fundraising. A key member of the leadership team, this role contributes to decision-making, cross-departmental collaboration, and feedback loops
that support organizational effectiveness.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, guest-centered environment, brings enthusiasm and professionalism to every interaction, and navigate conflict or challenges with calm, compassion, and clarity.
Position: Housekeeping Manager
Reports to: Campus Director
Location: Cortes Island, BC
Position Type: Seasonal, salary, full-time

Compensation: Starting at $32.50/hr, paid as bi-weekly salary, plus health benefits
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Housekeeping Manager leads the Housekeeping team to ensure all accommodations and facilities are clean, safe, and guest-ready. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on leadership and is responsible for scheduling, training, supply management, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hospitality. The Housekeeping Manager collaborates closely with the Guest Services Manager and Event Services Manager to streamline room and session space turnovers and guest readiness, especially on Arrival/Departure days.
They also play a key role in upholding health and safety standards, supporting guest experience, and supervising daily operations across the 4-acre Hollyhock campus.
Position: Arrival Day Housekeeper
Reports to: Housekeeping Supervisor and Housekeeping Crew Chief
Start Date: March/April – November 2025
Hours and Location: Seasonal, part-time hours on Cortes Island
Wage: Starting $23-25 per hour depending on experience
ABOUT THE ROLE
Hollyhock Housekeeping is an important part of our operational team. Ensuring the overall cleanliness of our guest rooms, session spaces, hot tubs and grounds. Arrival Day Housekeepers are needed on our busy turnover days to help with general cleaning and making rooms for arriving guests. A positive attitude and clear communication is essential. This is a physical role with a need for speed and quality. This role will be scheduled for arrival departure days through our season, you will have your full schedule of work from April – November and be able to plan the rest of your life accordingly. There will be an included bonus for those who work the full season without missing any days.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Hollyhock Housekeepers are a key part of our operational team. Ensuring the overall cleanliness of our Island Campus guest rooms, session spaces, hot tubs and grounds. Housekeepers support our busy turnover days and help with general cleaning of all campus spaces. A positive attitude and clear communication is essential. Our Housekeeping team provides guest room check-in support and answer any guest inquiries while out on the grounds. This is a physical role with a need for speed and quality. Housekeepers integrate best practices and procedures that keep the department and the campus running smoothly.

Development
Position: Director of Development
Reports to: CEO
Location: Remote within BC, Hybrid
Term: Full-time (40 hours per week), permanent
Starting Wage: $80k to $100k depending on experience plus benefits
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Director of Development will play a pivotal role in advancing Hollyhock’s mission by leading and executing our comprehensive fundraising strategy. This position requires a dynamic, results-oriented leader with a proven track record in securing significant philanthropic support.
The Director of Development will work closely with the CEO, and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Development support team, to meet and exceed our annual fundraising goals. This role is relational, entrepreneurial, requiring bold thinking and innovative approaches to fundraising.
