We’re excited to announce that Hollyhock is part of an inaugural cohort of organizations partnering with the Shorefast Institute for Place-Based Economies to pilot their innovative Economic Nutrition Certification Mark.
Modelled after food nutrition labels, the Economic Nutrition Certification Mark is designed to help certified organizations showcase their local economic impact by clearly and publicly displaying where the money goes and what it paid for when someone makes a purchase. It’s a simple, transparent way to show how spending supports people, places, and purpose.
This is the first time Economic Nutrition is coming to organizations outside of Shorefast’s own network, and Hollyhock is honoured to be part of this next step. Through this pilot, we’ll be exploring what an “Economic Nutrition Label” could look like for our work — and sharing insights and feedback that will help the Shorefast Institute scale up the model across Canada in 2026. Hollyhock’s participation is a way to contribute to a bigger movement for transparency and place-based economic resilience.
We look forward to learning alongside our fellow pilot partners and the Cortes Island community to see how this model can help tell a fuller story about the impact we create together.
