This week we have a special gift for our community, a moving Insights At The Edge interview with Julie Kramer and her partner of 22 years Tami Simon, founder of Sounds True.

Julie’s upcoming Vancouver program in May is a pre-requisite for Becoming A Spiritual Healer Level 1: The Essentials, a year-long professional training and initiation being offered September 12-18, 2024 & September 10-16, 2025 at the Hollyhock campus on Cortes Island.

Originally aired on Sounds True One, this special episode of Insights at the Edge has generously been made available for us to share with you.

Learn more about Julie

In a recent letter Tami Simon wrote the following introduction to Julie and her work:

My wife often says to me, “You are lucky in love.” And it’s true.

And if you are interested in becoming a spiritual healer and learning from someone who is ethical, inspired, and 100% committed to the welfare and professionalism of her students, this is your chance to be “lucky” as well.

Please allow me to introduce you to Julie Marie Kramer. Julie has been leading shamanic training programs for more than 20 years. She has trained more than 100 people to be professional spiritual healers and is now offering a new yearlong blended learning program (meeting both in-person and virtually) that begins in September. You can learn more about her program here.

The core of the practice Julie teaches involves entering natural trance states that are evoked through drumming, dancing, rattling, and singing for the purpose of connecting with compassionate spirits to facilitate healing. Julie recently led an introduction to her work on “Partnering with Compassionate Spirits” that was broadcast on Sounds True’s membership platform, Sounds True One. You can access this practice for free. This session is a great way to be introduced to both this work and Julie as a teacher.

Julie calls the path of training she offers “The Ennobling of the Heart.” When we partner and create a bond with compassionate spirits, our hearts expand; we become uplifted and further potentiated.

If you are drawn to the work of healing (including practicing as a psychotherapist, coach, nurse, bodyworker, or expressing your gifts through creative arts of all kinds), this training gives you an additional dimension of experience that can amplify your work. In Julie’s words, “You gain access to benevolent wisdom beings who can help you clarify, claim, and hone your unique medicine as a healer.”

As Julie’s partner now for more than 22 years, here is what I can tell you: Julie is committed to making spiritual healing a respected, professional path. She is rigorous, both with herself and with the thorough training of her students. The program she leads demands a lot, and Julie gives herself to it fully. The result: professionally trained spiritual healers who are themselves ennobled and, in turn, ennoble the profession.

Again, if you are interested in learning more, you can watch this introductory training with Julie on “Partnering with Compassionate Spirits” and check out her website.

P.S. The in-person component of the yearlong training program and initiation on Becoming a Spiritual Healer that takes place in September will be hosted at the Hollyhock Retreat Centre on Cortes Island, British Columbia. This is where Julie and I met (a story for another time) and also where I am right now as I write this.
