Oliver’s 2026 Activate Session – Entertain Us: Winning Attention on YouTube in the Age of Algorithms
Canadians spend more time on YouTube than any other social media app. This shifting media landscape is changing where Canadian voters are going for their news. How does that affect the way we reach working class and blue collar people?
In this talk, Oliver Paré will present original research examining how Canadians’ perceptions of politics and the economy are being shaped byYouTube’s information ecosystem and dominant position in the media consumption landscape.
