Coming Home to the Divine Abodes: A Meditation Retreat

With Dawn Mauricio

June 14 - 19, 2024

Slow down, get quiet, and uncover your innate resilience. Learn four Buddhist teachings that provide a framework to dispel fear and hate, and uncover qualities that are already present in you, and all of us.

The four divine abodes, commonly known as the heart qualities in Buddhist practice–loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity–are natural expressions of our awakened heart and what is sometimes described as “the only emotions worth having.” Learning and deepening our relationship with them allows us to meet whatever challenge we may be navigating, whether personal, collective, or both, with steadiness and openness. These timeless teachings of Buddhism remind us that our innate essence is one of boundless love and compassion, and all we have to do to remember our natural essence is to slow down, get quiet, and steady the heart and mind.

Join this meditation retreat for a rare opportunity to both deepen practice and be in community. Our time will consist of mornings and evenings of silence and practice, and afternoons of Dharma talks, more guided practice, discussion, and turning to the land to remind us of who we are already.

Program Highlights

  • Guided meditations designed to awaken the four heart qualities.
  • Strategies to navigate thought patterns that hold you back from cultivating the heart qualities.
  • Uncover the depth of these Buddhist teachings through talks, storytelling, and discussion.
  • Discover practical ways to integrate the heart qualities into your daily life, starting on retreat.Explore strategies to meet difficult moments with wisdom and strength.
