Jennifer Van de Pol

Jennifer Van de Pol is an interdisciplinary artist, certified Iyengar Yoga teacher, and community arts organizer based in Victoria, BC, Canada, the traditional lands of the lək̓ʷəŋən people. Jennifer holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts and is fascinated with the many ways her Yoga and meditation practices are interwoven with her drawing, video, writing, and performance art practices, and how both are nourished by this integration.

Jennifer teaches with a deep commitment to cultural respect, and with inclusivity and wonder at the forefront of mind and heart. She is honoured to be Songhees Nation’s Yoga teacher (since 2015,) and is a member of the University of Victoria’s EDI committee (Faculty of Education.) In her 20 years working as a teaching artist, and as an educator in galleries and museums, anti-oppressive and liberatory pedagogy are the roots of her teaching. She is a life-long learner, and loves sharing insights into how Yoga and art can offer clues for living a meaningful life. Her artwork has been exhibited across Canada, in the Netherlands, Sweden and Hong Kong, and is in public and private collections far and wide.

Jennifer is passionate about sharing body-based and creative practices in ways where everybody feels invited in, and has equal opportunity to experience being truly well. www.jvandepol.com
