Our presenters are curated for their quality, depth, integrity, and alignment with our educational purpose. Since 1982, a distinguished faculty of authors, educators, activists, artists, performers, and practitioners have shared their work at our Cortes Island campus and in Vancouver.
Kai Harvey

Kai Harvey grew up on Cortes Island and has always had a deep love and appreciation for the sea and the natural world. Kai loves guiding because it gives her the opportunity to share her passion and knowledge for marine biology, geology, and history. Nature immersion can offer healing experiences, and Kai aims to facilitate a space for people to connect with the environments around them. Kai incorporates her degree in political ecology into her kayak adventures through narratives that focus on social, political, and ecological issues that intersect in outdoor spaces.
Kai and her partner own and operate the local kayak adventure company, Cortes Kayaks.
