Our presenters are curated for their quality, depth, integrity, and alignment with our educational purpose. Since 1982, a distinguished faculty of authors, educators, activists, artists, performers, and practitioners have shared their work at our Cortes Island campus and in Vancouver.

Emilee Gilpin

Emilee is a facilitator, educator, journalist and multimedia reporter. She is the lead journalist and storyteller for the National Observer’s series First Nations ForwardEmilee is committed to sharing stories of success and sovereignty and also investigating responses to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s calls to action. She has been awarded the Susan Carson Bursary Award, a Fulbright Canada scholarship, and was also the Human Rights “Emerging Indigenous Intern” at The Tyee. A journalism graduate from Concordia University, Emilee is Saulteaux Cree and Métis.
