Our presenters are curated for their quality, depth, integrity, and alignment with our educational purpose. Since 1982, a distinguished faculty of authors, educators, activists, artists, performers, and practitioners have shared their work at our Cortes Island campus and in Vancouver.
Loretta (Lo) Laurin
They have taught a variety of embodiment modalities for over 15 years along the West Coast, including yoga, pilates, fitness, and partner dance. Lo’s unique fusion classes, workshops, and retreats strike a balance between grounded depth and light-hearted play.
Lo is also a life coach and is completing a Masters of Counselling Psychology to become a Registered Clinical Counsellor. Their coaching/counselling style centers somatics (mind-body integration) and trauma-informed, socially-just practices.
Lo also moves big ideas and groups as a Communications and Event Production Consultant, working with non-profits, unions, and social enterprises. Notable projects include producing the Justice as Trauma conference. They were Hollyhock’s Communications Manager for over 5 years and are a co-founder of the social enterprise Shift Delivery Co-op. They have certificates in Applied Human Nutrition, Sustainable Community Development, Religious Studies, and Liberal Arts.
