Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau extends a heartfelt invitation to join her for a beautiful, early summer weekend at Hollyhock in an exploration of self-knowledge, acceptance and empowerment. Drawing from her own personal journey and the insights of leading scientists and practitioners brought together in her new book, “Closer Together: Knowing Ourselves, Loving Each Other", Sophie and friends will lead you through a joy-filled and connective experience of personal evolution and belonging.

This weekend retreat will include yoga sessions, playful adventures in the forest and relaxing moments by the seaside. About Deepa Narayan, PhD

Deepa Narayan, PhD, is currently the Vice-Chair of Hollyhock Board. She first came to Hollyhock in 2003 and got involved with Cortes Islanders to save land from being clearcut and to create community and forest resiliency. With a PhD in Human Development she lived in remote communities learning from poor women, men and children across the globe. She later joined the UN and the World Bank where as Senior Adviser she worked with policymakers on scaling impact across sectors in local communities. Author of 17 books focusing on poor people’s strengths, and gender inequities, her most recent book is called Chup which highlights inner barriers to self-realization. She continues work with civil society groups on gender strategy and provides training in emotional literacy.

Schedule

This early summer weekend retreat is designed to offer an exploration of self-knowledge, acceptance and empowerment. Arrive at Hollyhock between 3-6pm on Friday, July 5th, and depart after lunch on Sunday, July 7th, rejuvenated and enriched by the experiences shared.
