Harvesting Basil

To harvest basil, it’s best to pick the new growth or the flowering tips at the top of the plant. This encourages bushier plants.

At about 2 inches below each tip you will find a node where you can see new growth emerging between the lower leaf and stem. Pinch the stem just above it, and remove the tip.

Continue to harvest the plant over time as the remaining node becomes the next mature tip.
