Hollyhock programs are enriched by welcoming a multitude of voices and experiences that reflect global plurality. The Hollyhock scholarship program is one of the key strategies we employ to expand program access to underrepresented and marginalized communities.
Hollyhock scholarships are made possible through the generosity of donors and guests like you!
While we welcome individuals to apply for scholarships annually, for programs with high numbers of applications, previous recipients may be declined. Scholarships are limited to one per person annually.
Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria to apply:
- You identify as a member of a community that has been historically marginalized. Some examples include: A member of the Global Majority, a collective term for people of African, Asian, Latin American, and Arab descent who together comprise the vast majority (around 80%) of people in the world; A member of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities
- You face health concerns and/or have diverse neurological abilities that limit or prevent your ability to work and/or earn a basic living wage.
- You experience financial hardship and struggle to meet basic needs like housing, food, and healthcare.
- You are an elder living on a fixed income.
- You are a single parent or caregiver in need of respite.
- You do not own assets such as property or other investments.
We kindly ask if you are not experiencing financial need, that you consider paying for your experience. This helps us to prioritize individuals who do not have the financial resources to do so.
