Kai Harvey grew up on Cortes Island and has always had a deep love and appreciation for the sea and the natural world. She started kayaking at a very young age, and now is the owner of local kayaking business, Cortes Kayaks.
Kai loves guiding because it gives her the opportunity to share her passion and knowledge for marine ecology on the coast. She is currently writing her thesis on human connections to ecology and how local business can be a platform for climate activism.

Learn to kayak safely and comfortably as you navigate the protected ocean waters surrounding Cortes Island. Glide gently on the surface of the sea, passing miles of pristine coastline, all the while accompanied by wildlife, both high and low. With kayaks and lunch loaded each morning, we will voyage out from Hollyhock on the 43-foot Misty Isles schooner, starting our adventures around Cortes Island and Desolation Sound anew.
