Hollyhock Gathering

July 24-28

Resilient Community Connectedness

Change rarely comes in isolation, but instead is rooted in the resilience of community connectedness.

Hollyhock Gathering July 24-28

Spend the peak of summer in the richness of community. Our Hollyhock Gathering is a meeting of extraordinary thought leaders and individuals in deeply held relationships. Our open space sessions invite participants to share and workshop unique and beautiful ideas, projects, and creative expression with sharp minds and innovative thinkers. It’s a moment to be seen, heard, and embraced by the warm beauty of the land and people.

REFILL YOUR RESERVOIR FROM THE WELL OF INNOVATION, JOY, AND RENEWAL

Morning plenary sessions feature dynamic, interactive presentations by social entrepreneurs, innovators, and artists from a variety of disciplines from the greater Hollyhock community

We bring together a vibrant, diverse group of movers and shakers, social entrepreneurs, educators, healers, artists, and thinkers to explore social transformation and relational reciprocity.

For those of you who’ve been to Hollyhock before, there will be familiarity. For those who are newly arrived you will find a warm welcome. For all of us who will be in attendance, there will be a wealth of opportunity–in the uncertainty of our collective happening–for us to recognize, reconnect, and remember our interdependence..

02

UNIQUE PROGRAM DESIGN TO EXPLORE OUR EDGES

Operating on the principle that real creativity at Hollyhock gatherings happens over tea or while swimming in the Salish Sea, as well as in workshops, this event has a flexible structure with plenty of time for informal conversation, creative expression, and fun.
Each afternoon includes participant generated open space — where you and other attendees share their work and ideas with each other in simultaneous sessions. Afternoons also afford time for swimming, hiking, kayaking, massage, creative arts, and the like. Throughout the week we have curated a program that creates opportunities for connection with people and place, as well as uplifting joy through storytelling, play, an oyster barbecue, and live music.

All together, this is a week to celebrate community, renew yourself while immersed in wisdom and innovation, and learn alongside one another in the intersections of personal and social transformation.

IMMERSE YOURSELF IN SUMMER ON CORTES

Participants enjoy garden-fresh cuisine in our oceanside restaurant, with a 24-hour self-serve toast and tea bar to fuel late-night conversations. For the early birds, you can start your morning with a yoga class, or meditation in the beautiful cob sanctuary.

The Hollyhock campus is a stunning setting for rejuvenating your body as well as your spirit. Whether you prefer swimming in the shallows of the ocean or unwinding in our sea-view hot tubs, there are ample opportunities to connect with yourself and nature this summer on Cortes.

Those looking for more adventure can book a sailing or kayaking excursion to explore the stunning geography of the Discovery Islands. If relaxation is your destination, consider booking a massage or reflexology session with our skilled on-site practitioners.

04

GARDEN-SIDE SOIREE AND CELEBRATION

Participants are invited to attend the Hollyhock Garden Soiree, kindly hosted by Victoria and Ian Watson. The larger Hollyhock community will join us for drinks and appetizers followed by exceptional entertainment. There will be an invitation to help support Hollyhock’s work to build a fair just and inclusive future.
