Hollyhock has been transforming North American society for thirty-five years. From our humble beginnings in 1982 as a project of Greenpeace founders, and human potential movement leaders, Hollyhock has catalyzed connection, collaboration, personal growth and progressive social change.

Most opportunities at our Cortes Island campus are seasonal, from April through October, with roles in garden, guest services, housekeeping, hosting, kitchen, maintenance, massage, program operations, and retail. We also have a full-time office in the heart of Gastown in Vancouver.

Campus Support Coordinator (Cortes Island, Year-Round, Full-Time)

Salary: $38,000 per year plus benefits and vacation (this salary is negotiable based on experience)

About the Role

In our 36th season, we are looking to build on the world-class experience we offer on our Cortes Island campus by adding a Campus Support Coordinator to our Cortes Island team. The Campus Support Coordinator will report directly to the CEO with a dotted line of accountability to our Operations Director and will be responsible for professionally supporting the CEO, the Senior Leadership Team, and Hollyhock’s Board of Directors. The Campus Support Coordinator will work at the intersection of a number of business departments (operations, fundraising, programs, and sales) with a focus on the supporting our team to reach our business and social goals.

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Director, the Host & Volunteer Manager oversees two important departments:

  1. Supervises and supports the daily working of all hosting staff, ensuring the highest level of customer service for our guests and presenters.
  2. Collaborates with all on-site managers to provide a positive experience for our volunteer service participants, while ensuring operational excellence.

About You

You are ready for a challenge. You like a fast paced, thoughtful environment that will challenge you to be your best self. You want to learn, grow, and are ready to work as a key member of a team. You are a leader with excellent interpersonal and coaching skills, and you have a dedicated mindfulness practice (e.g. meditation, yoga). About the Role

Bodyworkers play an integral role in deepening and enriching the overall Hollyhock experience by offering a wide array of specialized bodywork services to guests, presenters, volunteers and staff.  This frontline role requires exceptional skill, presence and sensitivity to the unique needs of a wide variety of clients. As key members of the Retail & Bodywork team, Bodyworkers also require strong organizational skills, superior interpersonal communication, and a high degree of flexibility and dependability.  All Bodyworkers are directly responsible to the Retail & Bodywork Manager, and are hired on a commission basis.

About You

As a Hollyhock Bodyworker, you enjoy being part of an organization that promotes health, wellness and personal growth in the development of strong social leaders and change makers.  You are committed to superior customer service and bringing positive energy to the Retail & Bodywork team.  You are highly qualified, energetic and motivated to create an exceptionally positive guest experience.  You are skilled and experienced in offering a wide range of modalities such as:  Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, CranioSacral Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage, Reflexology, Thai Yoga Massage, etc.  You understand the importance of maintaining a peaceful and relaxing studio space where genuine healing can occur.  You are professional, respectful, organized, and highly reliable.  You communicate cordially with guests at all times and have an ability to work enthusiastically and cooperatively as part of a team.
